Client:
A newly onboarded client with an existing group insurance plan. She recently hired an employee requiring $10,000 per month in medication covered by the Quebec government. By law, the employee had to join the company’s group insurance plan, which would significantly increase the insurance premium for all employees due to the high medication cost.

Challenge:
The high cost of medication for a single employee would raise premiums for all staff members, potentially leading to dissatisfaction and financial strain on the business.

Solution:
David and I collaborated to revamp the client’s group insurance plan. We integrated GoKlaim into the strategy, removing certain categories from the group insurance and shifting them to GoKlaim. This strategic restructuring reduced costs and mitigated the risk of future premium spikes due to high medical expenses.

Impact:

  • Cost Reduction: Lowered the overall cost of insurance by offloading high-risk coverage to GoKlaim.
  • Employee Satisfaction: Maintained fair premiums for all employees, preventing dissatisfaction and turnover.
  • Future Preparedness: Avoided potential financial pitfalls and ensured sustainable cost management for the company.
